This melon variety is native to India, there it is known under the name of "phut" which means "to split". Ripe fruits always crack. Plant reaches 1,5 m.

Fruits: small, oblong, dark green. Size (LxD): 15 x 10 cm; Flesh: whitish pink, low sugared.
