(Momordica boivinii)
This species was already described in 1886 and is spread from Ethiopia to South Afrika. It is a perennial climber which produce up to 7 m long stems. It is monoecious, this means that male and female flowers are on the same plant. The leaves are elongate somewhat hairy, the flowers very nice, dark yellow. The up 10 cm long fruits are spindle-shaped, green with cream stripes; they will turn to yellow when ripe.
As for the other Momordica with tuberous rootstock this species needs a warm and sunny place. (8 seeds)
